story ideas for class!

ideas are under the cut!

sorry for the crappy phone camera pictures, haha. I don't have a scanner, and I did these during my trip out of town this weekend. Though, i also think a lot better on paper--I can never come up with anything when i'm just sitting in front of a screen.

sorta all over the place, but i'm leaning towards 1, 3, 6

1. A bear has big dreams of going on epic adventures with an awesome dinosaur steed, just like her mom (who's the local legend). On the day she gets to pick her dinosaur steed, the only one left is the runt of the litter--a hapless little dinosaur.

They go along on an adventure, and the little dinosaur keeps on setting off jungle traps. When they reach a gaping chasm that they have to cross, it tries to carry our bear protagonist but it's too tiny--so they fall into a dark little area (typically the dinosaurs are huge and have giant wings). Fed up, the bear tells the little dinosaur that maybe they should split--it's a sad moment, and the two go off on their own. Later, the bear runs into a giant spider monster (?), the little dinosaur hears it, comes running back, and tries to protect the bear. The bear yanks on the dinosaurs tail to try and pull it back, and BOOM, it fires a laser that it didn't know it could do. They beat the monster, they're happy together, and yay, happy ending! (Haha)

This one's inspired by two stuffed animals that I have at home!

2. A little old lady who used to be a seasoned warrior, is retired to Brooklyn (so it's an AU type where dragons and other mythical beasts occasionally hang around big modern cities). She hears that the legendary dragon has been spotted near the Hudson River and wants to set out on one last journey to defeat it. Along the way, she walks past a pigeon and feeds it--it keeps on following her, eventually she gets to the dragon, who's also old and withering. Old person fight happens, the lady gets worn out. The pigeon then flies over the dragon and poops in its eye, and the lady has an idea--she starts throwing bread crumbs at the dragon and soon the dragon gets overwhelmed with all of the pigeons.

3. Two sisters can't get along, but they must work together when their pet cat, Bubbles/Minotaur, gets kidnapped by aliens. (still haven't really fleshed this one out--I just wanted to draw a dumb looking cat)

4. A snake can't eat mice, much to the dismay of his family, and goes on a search for good (he doesn't like the taste of grass either).  He goes to one house, has no luck because the person is scared of snakes (almost gets killed), but finds himself at the house of a ophiologist and lucks out.

 5. A pigeon in Florence is just hungry but can't find any food because everyone's trying to shoo her away. (sort of a "a day of a pigeon" type of thing)

6. (And the slightly more dramatic one/less derpy one, inspired by my own relationship with my younger brother)

A brother wants to play with his sister, but his sister is in the "ignore-the-younger-sibling" phase and wants to keep to herself most of the time. In the living room, he finds a gameboy and starts playing it. His sister walks in and yells at him to give that back, but then pauses, and asks him if he likes to play the game that was on the gameboy too (pokemon?). She tells him that people at school make fun of her for it. He beams and tells her that he'd love to play (pokemon? haha) with her. They bond over it, they get a little closer, then one day, while he's playing he accidentally drops it and the console breaks. He freaks out and thinks that his sister is going to hate him. She comes home from school, sees the broken console, and is quiet while he stands there nervously. She just crouches down and hugs him, and tell him that its okay, they can ask mom and dad for another one. :) happy ending, yayy
